For the last three years, I've used the same blush because it's worked for me but this time when it- Golden Sunset by Fashion Fair- was almost finished I decided to venture further afield. OK, so I didn't venture that far afield but that's because make-up brands such as Fashion Fair and Iman Cosmetics specialise in high quality products catered for 'women of colour' so I always feel confident when buying from them. I've recently become a fan of MAC Cosmetics so I went to have a look at what they had on offer. Here's what I bought:
|MAC's Sheertone Shimmer Blush in Sweet As Cocoa (£17) and Fashion Fair's Beauty Blush in Earth Red (£16).|
Because I'm dark-skinned, I generally go for blush that gives a shimmer and glow to my cheek bones, as opposed to plum or pinky shades. I prefer the look on me.
The Fashion Fair blush isn't really shimmery but I tested it on the back of my hand and liked it so I bought it. Why not try something different, eh?
MAC's is very complementary with my skin tone. This is more of an evening make-up blush but of course, I'd wear it during the day too. It's very similar to the blush I've been wearing.
Both blend in very nice and evenly which is great because you really don't want to look like a circus clown. I never apply much anyway, so don't really run that risk.
What blush do you use and why?
